Product Information

  • Barrier Pole Fenders are specifically designed for New Zealand marinas.
  • Made in New Zealand using the best products available.
  • Constructed using high quality closed cell Polyethylene foam (PE) around a large diameter HDPE pipe, rather than the lower grade Cross-linked Polyethylene (XPE) used in other marina fenders.
  • The non marking white PVC cover material is tough and durable with a 5 year UV warranty.  It is designed to withstand New Zealand’s harsh sun and environment.
  • Designed to sit on top of your existing pole ring and will rotate around the pole as your boat presses passed.   During installation, the Barrier Pole Fender will require extra buoyancy underneath the existing pole ring to support the weight of the fender.  We can supply a floatation ring to provide this extra buoyancy as an optional extra if required.  Some marinas will supply this extra buoyancy and install the pole fender at no charge, however this should be confirmed in each case.
  • The standard overall height of the fender is 1.5m which suits most applications.  This can be trimmed down during installation if required.  Likewise, should you require a taller pole fender please contact us.

Foam Options

Each pole fender has 3 different foam options to choose from:

  • 0.5m high x 90mm thick
  • 1m high x 90mm thick
  • LITE - 1m high x 30mm thick

If you are intending on using a pole fender when berthing and leaning on it with some force then we would recommend going for the 0.5m or 1m foam pole fenders, as the LITE version is more of a ‘just in case’ level of protection.  The purpose of a LITE pole fender is to put a small amount of protection around the pole so if a boat happens to accidently touch a pole while berthing, it doesn’t rub against the barnacles and oysters which can grow on poles in a marina and damage the topsides of a vessel.

General Information

  • Barrier Pole Fenders are the best way to protect your hull from being damaged by marina pole/s, especially if your vessel doesn’t have a rubbing strip along the top sides.
  • If you have any questions or would like us to arrange to have your pole fender installed as well, please contact us so we can discuss your individual requirements.
  • If you are outside the Auckland area, please contact us with regards to shipping pole fenders direct to your marina.
